Gut Health

I will start with the Gut Health series because a lot of people I know, including myself, had to experience really bad symptoms related to digestion.

We will start from the North (our head) and in a few weeks time we will get to the south (small intestine).

Today we will stay in the North (our head) and will talk about how our brain affects our gut.

If you have problems such as:

  • Chewing

  • Saliva production

  • Difficulties swallowing (for example - supplements that come in capsules or tablets).

These are all neurological symptoms related to the brain stem which regulates senses and motility.

Sometimes even constipation (slow gut motility) can be related to our brain function.

How do the gut and brain talk to each other? - They use the vagus nerve to communicate.

If the brain is functioning poorly, the vagus nerve is not stimulated properly and as a result of this the gut activity is reduced.

I created a guide on how to stimulate the vagus so your gut and brain can understand each other better.
