Let me explain what is happening to our bodies once we hit our 40’s.

Once we hit 40, our bodies start gaining more body fat to help us feel better as our body fat can produce more estrogen. Low estrogen levels will lower our serotonin levels too and as a result, most perimenopausal females may feel depressed, with anxiety and a foggy brain.

Unfortunately, the fat starts piling up on our midsection which is also harmful to our internal organs and overall health.

Since 60% of the human body is water it’s crucial to stay hydrated. Water helps regulate body temperature, delivers nutrients to cells, keeps joints lubricated, helps the body burn fat, and much more.

We always need to keep in mind that balancing blood sugar is key to balancing hormones. Diets that are high in vegetables, high-quality protein, complex carbs, and good fats can really help us achieve our health and body goals.

Exercise is also very important. Just because you are gaining body fat lately, doesn’t mean that your workouts don’t work. Remember, that exercise is a key to not just weight management, but also your cardiovascular system, good mood, and bone health.
